Tom Yates is a singer-songwriter whose songs combine simple but memorable tunes with intelligent, thoughtful lyrics. His second album 'the pedalling tom yates', available to buy online, is a beguiling collection of eleven songs, often musically gentle, sometimes lush (thanks to the cello section), and with an arresting lyrical focus.

Tom's debut album 'empty mirror' (2002), which demonstrated some of Tom's influences (rock'n'roll, and Dylanesque folk-rock) is no longer available, though the details are still available on this site.

Tom has recently moved to Rotherhithe, London. He sometimes performs in two bands (I Thalamus and Sparker) in London and Brighton, and hopes to start gigging his own songs in 2007. He is also principal cellist of EC4 Music orchestra. See the blog for details of forthcoming events.
