Tom Yates is a recording singer-songwriter whose songs combine simple but memorable tunes with thoughtful lyrics. His second album 'the pedalling tom yates', released in 2005 and available on CD from nightcafé, is a beguiling collection of eleven songs, often musically gentle, sometimes lush (thanks to the cello section), and with an arresting lyrical focus.

Tom's debut album 'empty mirror' (2002), which demonstrated some of Tom's influences (rock'n'roll, and Dylanesque folk-rock) is now available to download from iTunes and amazon.

Tom lives in Rotherhithe, London. He has been known to perform in two bands (I Thalamus and Sparker) in London and Brighton, and in a jazz duo (Tom & Berry). He is also principal cellist of EC4 Music orchestra. In theory, the blog gives details of forthcoming events.
